Our Story
Musicians Rick Denzien and Debra Lee were concerned about their eco-footprint and wanted to take responsibility for making changes in their daily lives to reduce their use of fossil fuels and methane (natural gas). Burning of fossil fuels for transportation, home heating and diet are leading causes of many health issues and climate change.
They began with small changes, such as switching to LED light bulbs, changing their diet to organic and local and fair trade foods.
They traded in their gas cars for Electric Vehicles – EVs, and converted their home energy use to wind (through their electric company) and installed solar panels (a DIY job). Not only did they reduce their eco-footprint, but also saved money and increased their financial security.
Making these changes on a full-time musicians’ income, they broke the barriers and myths of sustainability being “too expensive” and out of reach. One radio host started calling them Zero Emission Musicians, A clear shift had occurred that could also help the community. Creating a performance space for original music and having panels and workshops with music industry & eco-sustainability pro helps and enables community focus on the task at hand. Where are all the protest songs? Go Out and Play was one of the first to come out from Rick’s new CD and started being played on the radio last July.
WHO ARE WE?
THRIVE FEST is the only music festival of its kind that increases awareness on how we can all live more sustainably – right now.
OUR MISSION is to empower musicians and the entire community to thrive by living sustainably as we reduce our eco-footprints and help others to do the same.
THRIVE FEST teaches practical ways to save money, increase health and wealth, improve well-being, and educate others with the message of living sustainably through music and practical action.
ORIGINAL MUSIC & SUSTAINABILITY
THRIVE FEST includes an “Electric Vehicle (EV) Ride & Drive,” to learn about and test drive the hottest new EVs. Vendors share information on sustainability in clean energy, food, and much more. THRIVE FEST also features entrepreneurial business panels and networking opportunities for musicians – and a weekend of original music showcases, day and night, for everyone to enjoy.
EVolution
THRIVE FEST evolved from the All Music Fest & Sustainability Conference, re-branded to fully accommodate the event’s scope and vision.
VISION
THRIVE FEST’s vision is to build a world where artists and everybody thrives economically, because living sustainably equals thriving! We believe that artists and original music are essential to spreading awareness, and that when artists thrive, the community thrives.
